Here we go again

So this is about my 6th time trying this whole blog thing. Hopefully this time it will stick! I also say that every time. This here will be my account of all things domestic in my life and my random thoughts. A little background...

I live in Manassas Virginia with my artist husband Chris. We own a 3 floor two bedroom townhouse that while has come a LONG way still needs a bit more TLC before I would consider it complete. When Chris purchased the house (about a year before we met) it was the green machine. Forest green carpet on all three floors, forest green countertops, forest green window treatments...You get the idea. And everything else was on the cheap, brass fixture and lighting- linoleum in the entry, kitchen, and bathrooms. No wall had been painted since the builders matte white and they were dirty from wear and tear. I am proud to say the last vestige of green in the house is the kitchen countertop and hopefully that will be banished here soon. We have also managed to paint many of those awful matte walls, but several still remain.

We share this house with our two babies- Kane and Mr.Spooks. Kane is an old girl, a beautiful wolf malamute mix that Chris picked up in Colorado 13 years ago. While neither he nor I would ever advocate getting a wolfdog (she has calmed down and sweetened in her old age but was once highly destructive and somewhat scary with strangers) she is a phenomenal friend and incredible soul. All who meet her fall under her spell as she is exceptionally beautiful. Mr.Spooks is her pesky younger brother who I adopted from a coworker. She took in a stray not knowing that it was pregnant and ended up with far more cats that she bargained for. So of course without Chris' permission I brought home the sweetest little black kitten and that's how Spooky aka Mr.Spooks came into our lives. I don't know what I would do without them..Or Chris :)
